Introduction: This article compiles a user's real-world test results on Alibaba Cloud's "24 yuan" entry-level case at a Malaysian node, covering key metrics such as latency, bandwidth, jitter, and stability. It aims to provide references for purchasing and deployment, while also addressing SEO and geographic search optimization needs.
To ensure reproducibility, common network testing tools (ping, traceroute, iPerf3, wget/HTTP concurrent downloads) were used across multiple time periods; Test sites were located in Malaysia and multiple locations in China mainland, with sampling times covering both peak and off-peak periods. The median and intervals of results were taken to minimize the impact of occasional fluctuations.
Actual tests show that accessing this Alibaba Cloud instance from Malaysia locally usually has low per-packet latency; The average one-way latency from neighboring Asian regions showed ranged fluctuations. Overall latency is significantly affected by inbound and outbound bandwidth and intermediate routers, with peak latency increasing during peak periods.
Access latency from neighboring Southeast Asian countries generally performs better, while cross-continental access (such as China mainland and Europe) has more latency and hopping points. Traceroute results show that the number of intermediate hops and international links are decisive factors, and attention should be paid to routing quality and operator interconnectivity.
iPerf3 tests measure TCP throughput and can run the allocated bandwidth at full capacity during actual testing periods, but are limited by instance specifications and provided network uplink/downlink quotas. Concurrent downloads and long-connected transmissions can reach relatively stable throughput peaks in a short period, while long-term transmission experiences jitter.

Download stability is generally better than uploading; short-term burst bandwidth can reach relatively high values but is difficult to maintain long-term. It is recommended to base the evaluation on average throughput and pay attention to vendors' network restrictions and billing policies for entry-level instances.
Measured jitter fluctuates significantly across different time periods, especially during local peak periods or international congestion periods. For latency-sensitive real-time applications (voice, gaming), jitter and packet loss rate are key decision factors and should be continuously monitored over multiple periods.
Physical proximity to nodes directly affects latency; choosing server rooms located in Malaysia or Southeast Asia can significantly improve the access experience. If most users come from a specific country or region, prioritize nearby availability zones or adopt acceleration/CDN strategies to reduce perceived latency.
For lightweight applications that are cost-sensitive and do not require extreme latency (test environments, low-traffic websites, development servers), such entry-level examples are a viable choice. For real-time interaction or high-concurrency services, it is recommended to upgrade instance specifications or combine acceleration services with multi-region deployment.
